I used ink and watercolours to portray the pre-war, during-war, and "ceasing fire" periods. Each chapter has an artwork that aims to convey a precious place, intimate moment, or items left behind. Archival Fund
Notes from Afar Bibliography
Khartoum based artist. My artwork explores social, cultural and gender issues by figurative paintings that employ feminine themes and portray body language.
I began painting to deal with family matters, relationships and social limitations we as women face daily in Sudan.
As a self-taught artist, I continue to explore art through different mediums, such as black and white ink illustrations, mixed media and mainly oil paint.
