Black chalk, watercolor and pyrography. Subject/Description
Behind the paper laces, one can glimpse without being seen. The interior is hidden from the world outside, except for a few fleeting shadows. On both sides, the vision is fragmented, fragmented. No full understanding is possible. Faced with the lack of response to the underground danger, the artist doubts and must astonish himself. Archival Fund

Claire Forgeot was born in 1956 in Bayonne, France. She graduated in Graphic Arts at the Atelier Penninghen in Paris and worked for the press and publishing. In 1994, she devoted herself entirely to painting, drawing and sculpture. Paper is the first support of his unique work. During the summer of 2004, a burned landscape on a Greek island upsets her as much by its desolation as by its silent beauty. From then on, she explored the dark and the enigmatic contours of calcination, the burning of paper. Exhibited regularly in France and abroad, she lives and works in Moulins, in the Allier.
