A pop-up notebook to welcome the stranger in us through the Barabubbles, fantasy characters who throw hearts into the air in a constant attempt to
care for others. They want to spread feelings of caring, kindness, joy and serenity. Everything different normally frightens us, but everything is inclusive
and welcoming in the enchanted bubble world of the Barabubbles. A world where error does not exist and is constantly being experimented with. Error becomes wandering, and strangeness is welcomed with curiosity and harmony. We are all strangers, and we are all different; we are all strange. A world where one arrives through the vortex (the hole on the cover), a gateway into the world of the Barabubbles. Archival Fund

Isabella Mandelli is an eco-costal artist and Life Skills Trainer. From the tip of her brush, the Barabubbles come to life! The latter are a whole population of fantastic creatures, including Barabà, Oco, Finolu, Boda, the main characters of Isabella’s paintings, each with their peculiar personality traits. The Barabubbles live inside transparent bubbles where mistakes do not exist! By fostering this mindset, Isabella’s art precisely leads people to rediscover the primordial pleasure of wandering, somewhere between surprise and contemplation. Therefore, in this framework, the concept of normality should also be deconstructed. The artist’s rebellious tract welcomes its most diverse manifestations and draws inspiration from them, constantly building new, unexpected paths. Isabella’s art pieces thus invite us to be respectful towards diversity and gain the most out of our interpersonal relationships. In short, they propose a relational model of well-being in which the self, society and nature are constantly interconnected and exchanging.
