As the world faces continual introspection in these times, individuals and organisations alike often find themselves asking the questions “Who am I?” and “What comes first?”. For Oroko Radio, there is one word that answers these questions: Community.
This notebook represents the perspectives of our rich community, with analogue and digital contributions direct from Oroko residents. This work also acts as an archive of the profound community input that brought this radio station to fruition, input that continues to sustain and drive the platform forward, in addition to artistic interpretations of archetypal probes that consistently face us. This is our very own Àrokò, the intricate West African pre-colonial non-verbal form of communication that inspired our organisation’s name. The book serves as a reminder of how far we’ve come, with the notebook's blank pages encapsulating the many opportunities that lay before Oroko Radio as we continue our journey. Archival Fund
