A project about Islamic makeshift places of worship in north-east Italy. However, in Italy, the exercise of collective Islamic religions rights is very problematic. In almost every town newspaper report on the bitter debates regarding the construction of mosques. Muslim constitute the second largest religious community in Italy, with over one million members, but officially there are just two mosques. The aim of the project is to discover and document the makeshift places of workship often based in improvised hangers, basements, warehouses and garages in the industrial areas around Venice.
